Bill Duffy
Bill has over 25 years' experience with the City of London Police, specialising predominantly in public order and major event policing.
A qualified Gold and Silver Public Order Commander and Multi-Agency Gold Incident Commander, Bill has held command roles for numerous high-profile national events and operations, including US Presidential visits, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, Op London Bridge, Op Golden Orb (The King's Coronation), the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Notting Hill Carnival, major football fixtures across London, and significant protest activity. He also led the force response to Brexit and COVID-19.
In addition to qualifications as Strategic and Tactical Firearms Commander, Bill holds a Master's degree in Applied Criminology, a CMI Level 7 Police Management qualification from Cambridge University, and a Level 3 Teaching qualification.
Throughout his career, Bill has held a number of senior leadership roles within the City of London Police, including Temporary Chief Superintendent of Local Policing and several Superintendent posts, leading front-line operations, partnership working, intelligence functions, and major event planning in collaboration with blue-light partners, local authorities and event organisers.
