Exercise Design and Facilitation That Actually Tests Your Plans

Realistic exercises that expose the gap between what your plans say and what your teams can actually do — before a real incident makes that gap visible.

We design and facilitate contingency exercises, table-top scenarios and structured debriefs of major and critical incidents — giving your organisation the confidence that comes from having genuinely tested your plans.

Does this sound familiar?

The challenges we help you solve

These are the gaps we see most often. If any of them resonate, we should talk.

Your plans look good on paper but have never been tested

A plan that hasn't been exercised is a plan that hasn't been validated. Gaps only become visible when it's too late to close them.

Previous exercises were a tick-box, not a real test

Poorly designed exercises tell you nothing useful. Participants know the right answers in advance, pressure is absent, and lessons don't land. You finish no better prepared than when you started.

You don't know whether your teams can execute your plans under pressure

Even the best plan requires people who have practiced their roles. Without genuine exercise, you're finding out at the moment it matters most.

Gaps are discovered during real incidents — at the worst possible time

Every major incident reveals lessons that could have been identified in a controlled exercise. The question is whether you discover those gaps now — or during an actual event.

We design and facilitate desktop (tabletop) exercises, command post exercises (CPX) and live exercises — depending on your learning objectives, resources and operational constraints. Most organisations start with a tabletop and build to more complex formats over time.

Exercise size is flexible. We've facilitated exercises with as few as six participants and as many as several hundred. Participant numbers inform the design but don't limit what's possible.

Yes. All exercises are designed around your sector's specific risks, plans and stakeholder landscape. We have particular experience in rail, transport, public sector, venue and healthcare settings.

A tabletop exercise is discussion-based — participants work through a scenario in a meeting room, making decisions and talking through their responses. A live exercise involves physical mobilisation and deployment. Both have their place; the right format depends on your objectives and resources.

Exercise design is built around your operational constraints from the outset. We identify what can and can't be mobilised or simulated, and design an exercise that provides genuine challenge within those boundaries.
